MAR is waiting for your visit!

You can travel to the museum by bus, subway, train, boat and bicycle. Every Tuesday entry is free! Keep your ticket after entry, as you need to use it again when you exit the Exhibition Pavilion. Prioritise public transport. From all regions of the city, there are 50 bus lines that pass by MAR. Avoid travelling by car.

Visitors from Niterói, Ilha do Governador and Paquetá can use the ferry that stops at Praça XV station. From there to MAR you can walk (about 20 minutes) or take a bus (21 lines connect Praça XV with Praça Mauá).

There is a 54-seat bike rack available for cyclists.

Get off at Uruguaiana station (take the Avenida Presidente Vargas exit) > go straight along Rua Uruguaiana > turn right at Rua Acre > At the end of the street turn left onto Travessa do Liceu > continue until you reach Praça Mauá/MAR.

Around 20 bus lines pass close to MAR.

Those arriving by train should get off at Central do Brasil station and take the 225 bus or walk around 15 minutes to get here.

The nearest station to MAR is Parada dos Museus.
